Hugh Greasley

The interpretation process is not easy for me. I tend to relax and absorb the piece to be interpreted a few times, without being overly analytical or even trying to develop any ideas. Later – maybe a few days later – my mind often returns to the memory and suggests something. The suggestion might be in the form of an image.

Once the poem has been started, the poem often surprises me with the turns that it suggests. The writing of the poem can be an exploratory journey.
