Working from the films was an enjoyable and surprising process – it’s always exciting as a writer to start with a blank page and have no agenda as to what you’re going to write because it reminds you how a reader approaches your work and encourages you to write something that is direct and as fresh as the experience you want to convey. The films were inspiring and thought-provoking, and provided an excellent springboard for poetry.

Zoë Mitchell is a writer – and voracious reader – of poetry and fiction, living on the South Coast. She is currently studying for an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Chichester.
